The meaning of mathematics
There are many people confused about what mathematics is. Previously, we have to know it`s types and characters. Mathematics in highschool is different with mathematics in university. Pure mathematics is used in highschool to introduce use to basic mathematics. Apllied mathematics is used in university, mean all things we learnt here will be useful for our occupation.
Character is an abstract value in mathematics, which means mathematics is played in our mind. Object in mathematics is also an abstract value, but is non concrit. There are two ways in abstract, using abstraction and using idealitation. Abtraction means only focus on value, means all we talk about is just it`s value. Idealitation means make an assumption. It consist of definition, asumtion, formula, pattern, ect. All that element cannot be contradiction.
Next on, the other characteristic of mathematics is logic and consistant. It`s about conjengtur and confising. Professor Catagiri from Japan said that mathematics is abot three aspect. There are attitude, method and contains.
But there are isn`t suitable definition about mathematics. It is because every person have their own angle of view.

Mr. Marsigit started B.Inggris II subject by giving a task for his student. He ordered to send an article to his blog at http://marsigitenglish.blogspot.com. He gave us freedom about howlong the article is, but we must not make any plagiatism. He also gave us a task to make our own blog. We are not supposed to conceal our identity in order to make ourselves be easily recognized.

Mr.Marsigit blog contains many philosophies and referencies which are related with mathematics. He also tells about his experiences in foreign country. In 1995 he went aboard for the first time to England. He went there to continue his master degree in London University. Then in 2000 he went to Japan. Since then, he always visit japan every year. He also have ever visited Thailand twice and three times in Australia.

Beside of being a professor in UNY, Mr.Marsigit also an UPEC participant and writer. He writers Yudhistira`s book of mathematics for junior-senior highschool and bilingual book of mathematics for junior highschool. The last book is posted in his blog.

Last but not the least, Mr.Marsigit explains about some precondition to work in B.Inggris II. There are motivation, attitude, understanding, skill and experience.
